White Terror

Real Name: Mr. Fredericks

Golden Age Origin: 

Mr. Fredericks, manager of the Blue Socks baseball team, was secretly murdering factory workers using poison gas. However, one of his best players found out about the murderous secret of their manager, so the White Terror disposed of him. The clues left by the deceased player help super hero U.S. Jones in finding the killer before he could strike again.

Powers and Abilities: 

The White Terror was equipped with a dagger and vials of poisonous gas. He also wore a domed helmet like an astronaut or deep sea diver that was used to protect him from his poisonous gases. He had no powers but was a skilled chemist and climber.

Notes: 

The White Terror was also called the White Killer.

Scarecrow

Origin: 

The Scarecrow was an assassin and gang leader who worked for the Nazis during World War II. He usually operated on US soil. He almost always carried a whip, which he could use to trip and strangle his victims. He also carried a variety of firearms. He was good at getting away and possessed the strength of a maniac. He battled The Eagle on several occassions.

Captain Swastika

Golden Age Origin

Captain Swastika was a famed Nazi saboteur and the most frequently recurring archenemy of the Hangman.

The two first crossed paths by accident after the Hangman (in his civilian identity) picked up a distressed woman being pursued by Captain Swastika because of her knowledge regarding a country-wide sabotage plot.

While his face appears to be covered by a simple mask, Captain Swastika's insistence of wearing it even when disguising himself implies that it may simply have been his actual face.

Baron Von Tundra

Real Name: Baron Von Tundra
First Appearance: Air Fighters Comics vol. 1 #2 (Nov. 1942)

Origin: 

Colonel Von Tundra was a ruthless Nazi cyborg, whose left side, after being shot down in a dogfight by the hero Skywolf, was completely replaced by steel, robotic parts. Because of that, he was also known as Half-Man.

He reported directly to Adolf Hitler.

At one point, he was abducted by the Heap, who enjoyed the fact he spoke German (though the beast had clearly lost the ability to understand his actual words). Von Tundra managed to escape both death and capture on several occasions, ultimately, however, being brought to justice.

Powers and Abilities:

His steel fingers could easily break a man's neck and he usually carried a sidearm.

Music Master

Golden Age Origin: 

John Wallace, a concert violinist and music teacher, finds the fabled "musical pipes of death," which allow a user to fly whenever he hears a certain note played on a musical instrument, use musical notes as a force-field or solidified weapon, and send notes to carry out his orders. He then becomes the hero Music Master and uses the pipes to fight evil. His young sidekick is a prissy, glasses-wearing kid called Downbeat.

Poker Face

Origin: 

Poker Face was a skilled gambler. After two men named Wayne and Phelps tried to kill him during a poker game, Poker Face swore to return and take revenge. He managed to kill both men, but came into conflict with the hero, Black Jack. Poker Face used a blow dart to kill his victims. The poison on his darts caused the victim's facial features to melt and turn white. Poker Face was also a skilled fighter, nearly a match for Blackjack, and he sometimes carried a dagger. He was also a true master of disguise. It appears that his white, featurless face was, in fact, his actual face, though he was able to talk and use his blow gun despite the lack of a mouth.

Danny & his Genie

Origin: 

Danny was a bright, young lad who was given a ring by a mysterious man. Whenever rubbed, the ring would summon a Genie who would appear like magic. Together they would solve mysteries involving haunted houses and such.

Golden Age Origin:

John Raymond was a college professor of criminology and a mystery writer. He became interested in criminology when his brother, Tim, broke the law and wanted to know what led men to a life of crime. However while he only theorized about criminals by day, he became the crime fighter Web at night.

During one of his early adventures, he rescues Rose Wayne, a former student of Raymond, from the Black Dragon of Death. She later discovered his secret identity by noticing a spider clasp that was dropped by the professor.

His enemies included Captain Murder and Count Berlin.

Volton the Human Generator

Volton possesses what is called "the electrical power of elongation." He is super strong, he can fly, and he can emit bolts of lightning and electrify his hands.

Notes:

Volton stories were the first published work of Joe Kubert, a comic book creator who went on to do lots of stuff for many, many comic publishers.

Marvel Comics introduced Volton as a reimagined character in the Marvel Universe.

Rainbow Boy

Real Name: Jay Watson

Origin: 

Having somehow gained superhuman "rainbow control" that only works when light is shining on him (but can be overcome through the use of an "ingenious solar battery"), Jay Watson, worker for the "Wizard Kid Radio Program", became the crime fighter Rainbow Boy, often working alongside fellow hero, Hydroman. He can also fly at the speed of light and shape his rainbow trail at will.

Plymo the Rubber Man

Golden Age Origin:

Plymo the Rubber Man was a circus performer and crime fighter who, according to the introductory text, was somehow able to use internal vulcanization to make his body elastic and durable. He is not to be confused with the Iron Ace villain called Rubberman.

Historical Note:

C-M-O Comics were commissioned by Chicago Mail Order Company. The characters wore clothes and used various products that could be ordered from the company. Many pages contained ads that specifically explained where some of those items could be ordered using Chicago Mail Order Company's catalog.
